As students who’ve navigated the transfer application cycle ourselves, we quickly realized how lacking the resources were. The path to transfer wasn’t as straightforward as we had hoped. Even though the application systems were the same (UC App & Common App), the process felt entirely different from what we had experienced before. Unlike high school, where counselors and structured schedules guided us, transferring meant figuring things out on our own. We had to plan our coursework carefully and make sure we were meeting every requirement—because one mistake could make us ineligible to transfer or delay the process entirely.​ ​ The transfer process is a whole new ball game. If you don’t research each university’s specific requirements, you might miss essential prerequisites. On top of that, you need to craft a compelling narrative that explains why you want to transfer, and you only have about a year and a half to pull it together. It’s a lot to juggle, and writing about such a major decision can be really challenging. ​ We started this organization to offer students a clearer path. We want to help you map out your courses, plan your extracurriculars so they shine, and make sure your application essays stand out in the eyes of admissions officers. We learned that going through the process with a teammate makes all the difference. Bouncing ideas off each other, editing together—it became the heart of what we do. That’s why we formed this organization as a volunteer-driven, donation-based service. We know many college students can’t afford the high fees that other advising services charge, and we want to make sure everyone has access to support. ​ Our slogan, “for students, by students,” speaks to this mission. We’re passionate about bringing other transfer students into the fold, creating a community of people who understand the process and are committed to helping others succeed. We’ve seen firsthand how much transferring can change lives. Whether it’s finding a better fit, gaining access to more opportunities, or simply being closer to home, transferring can be life-changing.
